TMTPOST -- UBTECH Robotics Inc., the first publicly listed humanoid robot maker, drew heavy attention at the 2025 World Robot Conference in Beijing with the debut of five humanoid robots spanning industrial, commercial, and research applications.

From Aug. 8–12, the Shenzhen-based company showcased the Walker S2 — billed as the world’s first humanoid robot capable of autonomous battery swapping — alongside the wheeled humanoid Cruzr S2, the factory-deployed Walker S1, the Walker C “guide ambassador” for the China Pavilion at the Osaka Expo, and the research-grade Tiangong Walker.

Standing 1.76 meters tall with 52 degrees of freedom and industrial-grade dexterous hands, the Walker S2 is powered by UBTECH’s Brain Network 2.0 and Co-Agent AI platform. The robot features China’s first end-to-end binocular stereo vision system and can transport 15-kilogram loads across a 1.8-meter range, perform human-like movements such as extreme squats, and walk at up to 2 meters per second. The S2’s autonomous battery-swap system enables continuous 24/7 operation, completing the process in about three minutes.

The Cruzr S2, equipped with visual-laser fusion navigation, is designed for tasks from factory assembly and logistics to guided tours. Networked via Brain Network 2.0, multiple Cruzr and Walker S2 units can collaborate with UBTECH’s other mobile platforms for integrated workflows in manufacturing and logistics.

UBTECH also introduced its fifth-generation dexterous robotic hand, which has 19 active degrees of freedom, weighs under 1.2 kilograms, and can grip loads up to 10 kilograms.

On the commercialization front, UBTECH has partnerships with major automakers including BYD, Geely, Audi FAW, and Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor. The company has reported winning a 90.51 million yuan procurement contract from Miyi Automotive Technology — described by industry watchers as the largest commercial humanoid robot deal to date.

According to its 2024 earnings report, UBTECH’s industry-customized robotics revenue surged 126.1% to 140 million yuan, while consumer robotics revenue jumped 88.1% to 477 million yuan, driven by new product launches. In 2025, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor plans to deploy 20 UBTECH humanoid robots, while home furnishing retailer Juran Zhijia aims to roll out 500 units by year-end and sell 10,000 during the partnership.
