Huawei Launches Its Mate50 Series

BEIJING, September 6 (TMTPOST) – The highly-anticipated Huawei Mate50 series was launched on Tuesday, which is originally pre-installed with the Harmony OS 3 system.

Huawei also announced its Harmony OS 3 upgrade plan for Huawei devices, the first batch of upgrade devices including the Huawei P50 series, Huawei P50 Pocket, Huawei Mate Xs 2, and other smart terminal products.

It is worth noting that the launch began at 2:30 pm when the A-share was still in the trading session. There was news that the Huawei Mate50 series would be supplied by domestic OLED manufacturer Visionox and flexible AMOLED screen supplier BOE. Stimulated by this news, Visionox quickly limited up.

Priced from 4,999 yuan ($775) in China, the Huawei Mate 50 series are equipped with Huawei's self-developed operating system Harmony OS 3 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.

In terms of innovative performance, Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, announced at the conference that the Huawei Mate50 is the first smartphone to support Beidou satellite communication, allowing users to send a message in an environment without signal and in case of emergencies, like an earthquake rescue.

In addition to the above technology, the Huawei Mate50 series support a new "emergency mode". When the battery is nearly dead, the smartphone still can stand by for 3 hours for some fundamental functions.

Accident drop of phones has the most common impact on the service life of the phone. To solve this problem, Huawei Mate50 and Huawei Mate50 Pro use Huawei Kunlun glass to ensure strong protection of the screen, and increase the whole machine resistance by ten times, Yu added.

Huawei Mate50 series' excellent performance in communication was also highlighted. The Mate 50 is more than 2.5dB higher than the iPhone 13 Pro Max in terms of antenna signal strength for receiving TIS and sending TRP in the mainstream 4G bands of B3 (FDD), B5 (FDD), B39 (TDD), and B41 (TDD).
