BEIJING, August 24 (TMTPOST) --The US Department of Commerce added 7 Chinese entities, mostly related to aerospace, to its export control list of sanctioned organizations or individuals on Wednesday local time.

According to the announcement, the seven Chinese entities are China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation 9th Academy 771 Research Institute, China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation 9th Academy 772 Research Institute, China Academy of Space Technology 502 Research Institute, China Academy of Space Technology 513 Research Institute, China Electronics Technology Group Corporation 43 Research Institute, China Electronics Technology Group Corporation 58 Research Institute, and Zhuhai Orbita Control Systems. They are mostly related to aerospace.

The Chinese entities were accused of "acquiring and attempting to acquire US-origin items for China's military modernization", indicating suppliers of US materials or services to these entities will need a license before shipping any goods.

In late June, the United States had blacklisted 5 Chinese companie, claiming that the companies supplied items to Russian entities. U.S. officials have long complained that the Chinese companies take orders from the People's Republic of China and collect sensitive information on behalf of the People's Liberation Army.

Chinese officials and experts have repeatedly blasted the US government's continuous crackdown on Chinese businesses with manufactured pretexts and urged Washington to withdraw the unilateral sanctions.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said China had made stern representations to the U.S. side after it blacklisted five Chinese companies for allegedly supporting Russia, while urging Washington to withdraw unilateral sanctions and vowing to defend the interests of Chinese companies, commenting on the blacklisting of the five Chinese companies in June.

Noting that China will take necessary measures to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies, China urged the U.S. to immediately correct its mistakes and withdraw the relevant sanctions, he said.

Such crackdown would be detrimental to both China and the United States and the entire world. which will cause serious damage to the international economic and trade order and free trade rules, and pose a serious threat to the global industrial chain and supply chain.
