Liu Xunzimo is one of them, an actor, a scriptwriter, and the director of Boss.

The season two of Boss was aired in the late April. What exactly is UniMedia’s content team like? And what is it like to be a director at UniMedia? This issue of Photo Gallery will give you a glimpse of Liu Xunzimo’s working routine at the Boss season two production team:

March 9th, afternoon, office area of the UniMedia production studios. The director and producers had waited for 20 minutes to get a meeting room so as to have the last production meeting. UniMedia has 7 production rooms where the incubate projects. With the approval from the Green Light Committee, the production studio can organize internal resources of the company to make the project work.

In the meeting room, the scriptwriters had been brainstorming on the story and concept.

Before the official filming, Liu Xunzimo reviewed the script once again.

March 22nd, morning. During the makeup session before filming, they cast had an interview on the official account Wanxingren on WeChat, answering some selected questions from WeChat users.

During the makeup session, Bai Ke, one of Boss’s leads, was signing on UniMedia’s cards, which would be sent to some lucky fans.

In the morning, the first scene was filmed at a furniture mall in Beijing. Everyone in Boss season two’s cast was born in the 90s. The whole filming experience is a great learning opportunity for them.

Boss has a lot of office scenes. Most dialogue scenes involving the four leads were filmed at the office at UniMedia where the company’s three founders established UniMedia. That’s why very often one side of the office is having some filming done while other people work on the other side of the office.

The “boss” and the three “employees” watched their performance on the monitor. In the Internet and Internet show community, the Boss-Employee group formed by Liu Xunzimo, Bai Ke, Liu Hao (Xiao Ai), and Zhang Benyu, is extremely popular. Boss has therefore become one of UniMedia’s heavyweight IP. Liu Xunzimo revealed that this show would be adapted for the movie screens in the near future.

The makeup artist is Liu Xunzimo's fan. As a matter of fact, UniMedia has become a hot destination for many young people looking for a place in the film industry. The very first thing the new comers would do mostly at UniMedia is look for the faces they are familiar with.

During the gap time, the photographers and producers would give Liu Xunzimo a few photos to choose from. The company's new media team will post these photos as a form of live broadcasting on WeChat and WeiBo.

March 23rd, 1:00 am. The first filming day was over. The cast was having a meeting to discuss about the very first day. Even though everyone is from the same company, but this was their first cooperation together. The first few days are usually the time that they start to learn about each other and become familiar with each other’s working habits. In UniMedia, every production studio functions like a production company. Once the project is approved by the company, the production studio can get scriptwriters and production resources from the company in order to form a project team. The resources in the company are very commercialized. The cast can even hire people outside the company. In some way, the production studios are independent from each other and handle and manage the loss and revenue themselves.

March 23rd. On the next day, the first scene was filmed at a furniture mall.

One of the cast members played as a guest performer and used the gap time to do his part of job at the filming team. At the UniMedia, many people are both the actors in front the cameras and the enablers behind the scenes.

The filming in Beijing was done. The cast was about to leave for Hebei province.
