BEIJING, May 12th (TMTPOST) — China currently has 15.07 million alzheimer patients that are over 60 years old, a number that will reach 22.2 million in 2030, according to estimates from a report released by China National Committee on Ageing. It is estimated that there will be 28.98 million alzheimer patients in China by 2050.
The report points out that there will be increasing demand for care services for elders with dementia in China as the country continues to age. The rising demand for elderly care will also have an impact on sectors such as insurance and nursing homes, as well as community-based elderly care programs.
