BEIJING, May 6th (TMTPOST) — Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has received mining chip orders from Bitmain, sources within the industry said. It is reported that the chips will adopt 5nm manufacturing technology and will be used for mining cryptocurrencies. The chips are scheduled to go into production in Q3.
Bitmain is a private company headquartered in Beijing, China that designs application-specific integrated circuit chips for bitcoin mining.
