BEIJING, May 5 (TMTPOST)— There are totally 230 million domestic tourist trips during this year’s five-day national holiday Labor Day starting from May 1, representing a strong year-on-year growth of 119.7% and 103.5% of the level before the COVID-19 pandemic, China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism estimated on Wednesday.
According to the ministry, domestic tourism in the holiday generated revenue of RMB113.23 billion (US$17.49 billion), rising 138.1% from a year earlier and returning to 77.0% of the pre-pandemic level.
