Xiaomi goes public on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange

Lei Jun is now worth over USD 13.91 billion as a result of Xiaomi.

Xiaomi Corp (stock code 01810) officially went public on Monday on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange at an opening price of HKD 16.6, down 2.35% from the listed price of HKD 17. The company's market capitalisation has reached about USD 47.3 billion with the listing.

Xiaomi Chairman Lei Jun is now worth over USD 13.91 billion as a result of Xiaomi, a figure approaching that of Baidu's Chairman Robin Li and Geely Automobile's Chairman Li Shufu.

Xiaomi has overtaken NetEase in market value, but is still USD 10 billion behind China's e-commerce giant JD.com.

"This is my second time in Hong Kong Exchanges. I'm here to witness Xiaomi's listing," posted by Lei on his Weibo and WeChat.

"I came to strike the gong 11 years ago when Kingsoft (3888.hk) went public on the main board of Hong Kong Exchange on October 9, 2007. Today I'm here for Xiaomi (1810.hk)'s IPO." said Lei.
